Belarusian Maryna Zuyeva disqualified in 1500m speed skating competition

Speed skater Maryna Zuyeva was running a 1500m distance in couple with Chinese rival Ruining Tian.

The moment she was moving to another course the judges disqualified Maryna for rules violation.

The Netherlands’ Ireen Wust claimed gold (1:54.35) just 0.2sec ahead of Japan’s silver medalist Miho Takagi (1:54.55). Another Netherland’s athlete Marrit Leenstra clinched bronze (1:55.26).

Next time Maryna Zuyeva competes in ladies’ 5000m is on 16 February.
