Closing Ceremony of III Summer Youth Olympic Games 2018 celebrated in Buenos Aires

On 18 October the Youth Olympic Village saw the Closing Ceremony of the III Summer Youth Olympic Games Buenos Aires 2018.

The event was marked by display of the most spectacular competitions episodes, which followed by artistic performances and the parade of national teams’ flag bearers. Two times judo champion Artsiom Kolasau was honored to represent Belarus and hold its flag there.

At the end of the ceremony the Olympic flag was handed to the next YOG edition capital Dakar (Senegal).

Closing Ceremony

The Belarusian team at Buenos Aires 2018 was introduced by 37 athletes in 16 sports. They won 9 medals (2-3-4). Judoka Artsiom Kolasau conquered 2 gold medals, rower Ivan Brynza took the silver one, swimmer Anastasiya Shkurdai won the silver and bronze awards, shot putter Yelizaveta Dorts clinched the silver medal, wrestler Natallia Varakina, pole vaulter Krystsina Kantasavenka, acrobats Victoryia Akhotnikava and Ilya Famenkou were awarded bronze medals.

At the I Summer YOG in Singapore Belarus won 6 medals (1-4-1), during the second edition in Nanjing Belarusian team also won 9 medals (5-4-0).
