Disqualified athletes would return personal scholarships to the budget for doping use

The government approved the Regulation on the procedure of calculation, restitution and recovery in the national budget, as well as that they were invalidated for doping use by athletes.

The corresponding decision of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus was contained in Resolution No. 750 of October 19, 2018. According to this document funds paid in accordance with the Presidential Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus of April 15, 2013 No. 190 «On measures to stimulate better results»: nominal scholarships of the President of the Republic of Belarus in physical education or sports; prizes, rewards to athletes and coaches in cash. Funds restitution is made by athletes (their legal representatives) and (or) their staff to whom such money was paid, under an order of the DOSAAF Central Council Chairman for technical and aviation training; the Minister of Sport and Tourism in other fields. The Ministry of Sport and Tourism, DOSAAF, are taking measures to recover such funds through the courts in the absence of voluntary of funds restitution.

The resolution was adopted on the basis of the Presidential Decree of the Republic of Belarus of May 24, 2018 No. 201 «Against Doping in Sport» and comes into force on November 27, 2018.
