Last month to register for YOG 2018 Volunteer Programme

Registration for the biggest sports volunteer programme in Argentina’s history has entered its final stage. On March 31 the registration period will close for those wishing to be volunteers at the Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games.

Since the launch of the programme on December 5, more than 26,000 people have registered in the hope of being part of the biggest multisport celebration in Argentina’s history.

Volunteerism is one of the main values of the Olympic Movement. The Games would not be possible without the participation, dedication and commitment of the volunteers.

At present, 55 percent of the applicants are women.

The majority of the candidates are from Argentina, followed by Brazil, Venezuela, Chile, Bolivia, and Colombia. Outside of Ibero-America, Russia has the most registered candidates, followed by China, France and the United States.

Eighty-four percent of the candidates are between 18 and 35 years old. Thirteen applicants are over 76 years old.

Up to 8000 volunteers for Buenos Aires 2018 will be chosen among the local and international candidates. Those interested in volunteering must be 18 years old by the start of the Games on October 6, and there is no age limit.
