Minsk 2019. Sambo wrestler Vera Gorelikova – Champion of 2nd European Games!

On June 23, the sambo tournament continues at the 2nd European Games. The Belarusian sambo wrestler Vera Gorelikova became a champion in the women’s -60kg final.

In the Gold Medal match, Vera fought with the Moldovan athlete Sabina Artemciuc and with a help of a painful technique secured gold with 1-0 win over. 

Vera Gorelikova: “I haven’t yet felt that I became a champion. Maybe tomorrow I will realize it. This competitive day was not an easy one and the tournament means a lot to me. I’m glad that my coach's idea worked out. He's just a genius! ”

The Acting first Vice-President of the NOC of the Republic of Belarus Viktor Lukashenko was watching the final bout from the grandstands at the Sports Palace.
