NOC Belarus team won roller skiing relay

On Minsk City Day, the team of the National Olympic Committee, with President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko at head, won the roller skiing relay among teams of law enforcement agencies and state-run organizations.

In the 4x2.8 km relay race, Olympic champion in biathlon Nadezhda Skardino, speed skaters Maryna Zueva and Ignat Golovatyuk performed in the team of state Alexander Lukashenko. Their team were first to cross the finish line.

The team of State Security Committee finished second ahead of the third quartet of Sports and Tourism Ministry, the finisher in which was head of the Ministry Sergey Kovalchuk. According to the competitions' regulations, heads of agencies and ministries were supposed to finish the relay race, therefore the Sports and Tourism Ministry was awarded the second place, while the bronze was taken by the team of the State Security Committee. 

Before the start, the head of state held a small warm-up at the distance, and also talked to the athletes of the national speed skating team Maryna Zueva and Ignat Golovatyuk, who were to participate in the roller marathon. 

The mass sports festival near Pobediteley Avenue continued with competitions in fire-rescueing sport, basketball 3х3, sailing "Star Regatta", volleyball and chess. The roller marathon was bound to be intriguing, with the best athletes of Belarus and foreign countries participating.
