The award «Belarusian sports Olympus» was awarded to TV journalist Boris Gersten

«To be honest, such a high award was unexpected for me. I consider it as an assessment not only of my own work, but also of all those people with whom I was lucky to work. Apparently, we managed to do a lot in sports journalism. I sincerely thank the President of Belarus for the appreciation of our work», – said Boris Gersten. He also underlined that this award was an incentive reason to move on.

Boris Gersten is one of the most well-known and experienced television journalists. He has been working for the Belarusian television since 1977. During this time, there was not a single major sport event with athletes of Belarus without Gersten Boris participation. He has worked at three Olympics (Salt Lake City-2002, Athens-2004, Turin-2006) and three Paralympics (Atlanta-1996, Nagano-1998, Sydney-2000), as well as 12 University games.

Now Boris Gersten is deputy head of the Department of sports broadcasting of a closed joint-stock company Second national TV channel (ONT). Boris Gersten is also a member of the Commission of the NOC of Belarus on interaction with the media.

The winners of the award «Belarusian sports Olympus» for 2018 were also the athlete-instructor of the national team in athletics Olga Mazurenok and senior a coach-sports teacher of the trampoline Department of Olympic reserve №3 in Grodno Irina Baranovskaya.
