Weather prevented Domracheva from a better result in pursuit

Biathlete Darya Domracheva finished in 17th place in ladies’ 10km pursuit.

One of the factors, which kept Darya from a decent performance, was the weather. The three-time Olympic champion of Sochi 2014 was lamenting for external factors she could not handle. She made 6 penalty shots, four of which happened at the last range in standing position.

At the World Championship 2009 in Korea, Domracheva also failed and was only 53rd in sprint and 48th in pursuit.

“I remember that Championship, but it can’t be associated with the Olympics both in terms of passion and excitement”, said Domracheva.

“It is my third Olympiad since Vancouver 2010 and Sochi 2014, still I don’t remember such wind then”, she added.

Life goes on, according to Darya, and she will be getting ready for the following starts with husband Ole Einar Bjorndalen.
