Today, our heading «The Medalist Responds» is led by Krystsina Kantsavenka – pole vaulting bronze medalist of the 3rd Summer Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires.
I started athletics when I was 13.5 years old. I participated in school cross-country race when somebody from a Gomel stadium offered me to try an another event. It turned out that that man was Anatoly Marchenko – a pole vault coach. So I made a choice in favor of this sport.
At the very first training, the coach gave me a pole. He said: just try. I succeed from the first try.
Competitions in Buenos Aires turned out to be very difficult for me, and I am glad I managed to win the bronze among such strong teams.
If considering sports, I watch only athletics, and only when our sportsmen are involved.
As long as I do well in sports, I want to stay on, and then we'll see.
Now I am a freshman of the Faculty of Physical Education at Gomel State University named after Francysk Skaryna. I was enrolled without exams.
Parties, discos and that kind of fun is not my jam at all. I prefer to spend my free time listening to music and watching movies.
Tokyo-2020 is not on the agenda for me, it's too early. Maybe will consider Paris 2024.
Medal in Buenos Aires – yet is the main award in my career. I used to take the third place in European Youth Championship and in Gymnasiade.
Yelena Isinbayeva is an unquestionable idol for me in sports. I don’t even know what I would ask her when meeting face-to-face, but I would definitely take a photo.
Got acquainted with Russian athletes in Buenos Aires. To communicate with others you need to speak English. So, it's time to learn.
