Alexandre Medved International freestyle wrestling tournament will take place in Minsk on March 1-2, 2013

The 43^rd International Grand Prix tournament in freestyle wrestling for the prizes of the three-fold Olympic Champion Alexandre Medved will be held at the Sport Palace in Minsk on March 1-2, 2013.

Around 200 athletes from 15 countries are going to take part in the competitions. The wrestling fans will watch the competitions of the wrestlers from Belarus, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, USA, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine and France.

 The hosts of the sport event are planning to enter two male teams. The competitions will be held in 7 weight classes (-55kg, 60 kg, 66 kg, 74 kg, 84 kg, 96 kg, 120 kg ) among men and (-48 kg, 51 kg, 55 kg, 59 kg, 63 kg, 67 kg, 72 kg) among women.

 The competitions will unfold on March 1, 2013. The opening ceremony is going to take place in the afternoon of the same day, March 1, followed by the finals in 55 kg, 60 kg, 66 kg, 74 kg men’s weight classes and -48 kg, 51 kg and 55 kg women’s weight classes.

The International tournament in freestyle wrestling for the prizes of Alexandre Medved has been held in Minks since 1970. From 1994 by the decision of the International Federation of Associated Wrestling the tournament got the Grand Prix category.
