NOC president extends birthday greetings to Ekaterina Karsten

President of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Belarus Viktor Lukashenko extended birthday greetings to Ekaterina Karsten, a two-time Olympic rowing champion, as she turned 50 on 2 June.

Viktor Lukashenko emphasized that her unschooled talent, determination and many years of hard work helped the athlete win the most important awards in her life, including two gold medals of the Olympic Games. “For many years, starting from 1996, you repeatedly graced the podium at top-level tournaments. Winning the first Olympic gold in the history of the sovereign Belarus you have forever inscribed your name in the history of the national and world sport. Your brilliant victories have been the best guidance not only for the modern generation of Belarusian rowers but also for representatives of other sports. Your activity as a coach in Belarus also deserves profound respect,” the message of greetings runs.

The president of the NOC of Belarus wished Ekaterina Karsten strong health, happiness, wellbeing and all the best.
