The Order of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Belarus for exclusive services in the development of the Olympic movement was presented to Dr. Hassan Moustafa by the Vice President of the National Olympic Committee of Belarus, Vice-Chairman of the Handball Federation, Rector of the Belarusian State University of Physical Culture Sergey Repkin.
Dr. Hassan Moustafa noted the positive changes in the infrastructure of Minsk in comparison with to his first visit in 2006. "Significant changes have occurred, new sports facilities have appeared, this infrastructure allows Minsk to hold international tournaments of the highest level," - he said.
According to the President of the IHF, thanks to the support of sports in Belarus by the country's leadership, a significant number of people have joined to physical education.
Sergei Repkin noted that the National Olympic Committee of Belarus supports all the ideas in the development of sports that held by the International Handball Federation. Famous Belarusian players participated in the meeting at the NOC of Belarus: Alexander Karshakevich, Yuri Shevtsov, Konstantin Sharovarov, Andrey Barbashinsky, six-time Champions League winner Sergei Rutenko. Chairman of the Belarusian Handball Federation Vladimir Konoplev, head of the Board of Trustees of the BFН Ivan Noskevich.
Head of the International Handball Federation visited the Museum of the National Olympic Committee of Belarus and got acquainted with the main achievements of Belarusian athletes at the most important international competitions.
In the morning, the President of the International Handball Federation negotiated with the Minister of Sports and Tourism of Belarus Sergey Kovalchuk.
On 14 September, Dr. Hassan Mustafa and General Secretary of the European Handball Federation Martin Hausleitner opened a new sports complex for playing sports, which is located on Burdeynogo str. in Minsk.
The sports complex has all the conditions for handball, physical education and sports, health promotion, organization of interesting and useful leisure. It is equipped with a handball court with modern Taraflex flooring, gymnasiums, sauna, teaching room.
The complex is intended for training children, arranging sports training camps and competitions.
Dr. Hassan Mustafa (28.07.1944) devoted his life to handball and for 15 years he was a player in the club "Al Ahly", ten years playing for the Egyptian national team. For a long time he was the head coach of the national team. In 1998 he was recognized as the best coach in his country. He studied at the College of Physical Culture and Sports in Leipzig, after receiving a master's degree, defended his doctoral dissertation on "Elements of effective management of clubs and federations."
Over the years, he has been providing practical assistance to the Belarusian Handball Federation in organizing lectures and seminars for referees and coaches, providing sports equipment, inventory, equipment, and professional flooring for playgrounds.
