Viktor Lukashenko elected First Vice President of NOC of Belarus

The meeting to discuss Belarus’ participation in the upcoming Olympic Games was held at the headquarters of the NOC of Belarus with the participation of Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko and members of the NOC, chairmen of supervisory boards of sports federations, unions and associations, heads of the sport and tourism departments of the regional executive committees and the Minsk City Executive Committee, and Olympic training centers.

One of the important issues on the agenda was the election to the governing body of the National Olympic Committee. Viktor Lukashenko was elected First Vice President of the NOC; vice president of the Belarusian Canoe Association, Olympic champion Dzmitry Dauhalionak was elected Vice President of the NOC.

New appointments to the NOC Executive Board are Viktor Lukashenko (First Vice President of the NOC), Dzmitry Dauhalionak (Vice President of the NOC), Minsk Vice Mayor Artyom Tsuran, Chairman of the Belarusian Table Tennis Federation Aleksandr Petkevich and athlete-instructor of the Belarusian national sailing team Tatiana Drozdovskaya.

Nikolai Ananyev and Leonid Taranenko were named honorary members of the National Olympic Committee of Belarus for services to the Belarusian sport and the Olympic movement.


The NOC also reviewed the performance of Belarusian athletes at the biggest international competitions and discussed the preparations for the 2020 Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo.
