Over the course of the 2nd European Games, that were held in Minsk from 21-30 July, 200 sets of medals were awarded in 15 sports. The team Belarus placed second in the overall medal standings, it won a total of 69 medals: 24 gold ones, 16 silver ones and 29 bronze ones. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko congratulated the members of the National Team Tatsiana Sharakova (cycling) and Kiryl Hryshchenka (Greco-Roman wrestling) on winning gold medals at the 2nd European Games.
On June 30, the Closing ceremony of the 2nd European Games took place at the Dynamo National Olympic stadium. The spectators were introduced to an emotional show. They saw the extinguishing of the Flame of Peace and bid farewell to the Games’ mascot Lesik the Fox who promised with a glowing heart to stay forever in our hearts.

The Flame of Peace torch relay of the 2nd European Games arrived in Minsk on 17 June. The flame of the multi-sport forum was welcomed in State Flag Square.
On June 13, the headquarters of the National Olympic Committee of Belarus hosted a press conference on the participation of the Belarusian sports delegation in the 2nd European Games in Minsk.
NOC Belarus launched a campaign in support of the Belarusian team at the II European Games "Bright summer!". 30 days before the start of the multisports forum, the NOC Belarus offers the citizens of our country to become involved in a big sports festival and feel a part of the team.
On May 22, 30 days ahead of the 2nd European Games, the photo exhibition “Olympic Belarus: bright pages” opened on the first floor of the Dana Mall shopping and entertainment center. It is organized by BelTA news agency and the National Olympic Committee. The exhibition features Belarusian athletes who became Olympic champions in the Soviet times and Olympic champions and medalists of the contemporary period. The exposition will stay open to all the visitors of the shopping and entertainment center till June 30, 2019.
