Following an outstanding 2023 season Aryna Sabalenka took second place in the WTA world rankings.
The WTA Final Tournament ended in Cancun (Mexico), in which Aryna Sabalenka reached the semifinals, but her main competitor Iga Swiatek from Poland was able to defeat Jessica Pegula from the USA in the final and took first place in the rankings.
In 2023 Aryna Sabalenka won her first Grand Slam title in Melbourne; reached the US Open Final.
She played in the semi-finals of Roland Garros and Wimbledon, and also won tournaments in Adelaide and Madrid.
From 11 September 2023 to 7 November 2023 she led the world ranking of tennis players.
