“The development of sports medicine in the country began more than 50 years ago. However, ten years ago, on 1 October 2014, the decision was made to unite sports medicine and sports science in one center. Today the center boasts cutting-edge equipment, and highly-qualified personnel. It is well-known far beyond the country’s borders, in particular in Russia, China, the CIS and non-CIS countries. Today's conference is a vivid example. We all know very well that without medical support it is hard to achieve high results in sport. I would like to thank head of the center Irina Malevanaya and the personnel for contribution to our common cause,” Viktor Lukashenko said.

“The 10th anniversary of the National Scientific and Practical Center of Sports is just a step into the future. Today we are the only institution providing highly qualified medical care in sports training. We do our best to introduce innovations and preserve the traditions laid down by our predecessors. Today the center performs minimally invasive surgeries, actively develops psychology, nutritionology, cardiology, new areas in biochemistry. Next year we plan to start working on domestic sports nutrition in dry and liquid forms, biologically active additives under the import substitution program. We will also be working on a program to improve athletes’ performance. There are a lot of ambitious plans. The best way to predict the future is to create it yourself,” Director of the National Scientific and Practical Center of Sports Irina Malevanaya, said.
