Belarus NOC president congratulates Raman Svirydzenka on gold medal

Viktor Lukashenko has congratulated Raman Svirydzenka on winning the first gold medal for Belarus at the XIV Winter Paralympic Games in Italy.

“Your courage, strength of spirit, and skill inspire millions of Belarusians, who support you wholeheartedly and proudly watch the performances of the Paralympians. Despite all the difficulties during the qualification, you managed to pull yourself together and show your best in the final of the tournament.”

He noted that today, thanks to Raman’s triumphant victory, the anthem of our country was played and its flag was raised at the Paralympics for the first time in a long while.

“The entire Belarus is proud of you,” the head of the NOC stressed.

He wished the athlete good health and many more outstanding accomplishments in his career, and extended wishes to the Belarusian team for continued success in Italy.
