President of the National Olympic Committee of Belarus Viktor Lukashenko has held a working meeting with Honorary Consul of the Republic of Belarus in Lucerne, Switzerland, Hermann Alexander Beyeler at the NOC headquarters.
Viktor Lukashenko and Hermann Alexander Beyeler explored the possibilities of expanding Belarus-Switzerland cooperation in sports and in the promotion of the Olympic movement, as well as contacts in culture and science.
In his welcoming speech, Viktor Lukashenko noted that Belarus is aware of the hard and fruitful work of the honorary consul in the interests of the two countries:
“Much has been achieved in the field of medicine, science and culture. We believe that we need to expand cooperation in sports as well. Yesterday, a meeting was held with the leadership of the Sports and Tourism Ministry, you closely cooperate with the Belarus Ski Union. We understand that it is not so easy to do your work in these difficult times, and we highly appreciate your efforts and your contribution. You have proved that you are a great friend of Belarus and are ready to work for our countries in any conditions,” Viktor Lukashenko said.
In turn, the honorary consul expressed willingness to facilitate cooperation in sports medicine.
“I think this advanced area of work is a locomotive for the entire sports industry,” he noted.
Hermann Alexander Beyeler also visited the museum exposition of the NOC of Belarus. He was told about the great legacy of Belarusian sports and achievements of our athletes on the world stage.
