Belarus wins gold, silver at Russian Biathlon Championship in Tyumen

Dzinara Smolskaya of Belarus secured a victory in the Women’s Super Sprint at the Tyumen stage of the Russian Biathlon Championship.

One of the leaders of the Belarusian national team did a good job to leave the final shooting stage in the first position. Dzinara Smolskaya kept the pace to cross the finish line first, holding the Belarusian flag. Silver went to Tamara Derbusheva, bronze - to Elizaveta Kaplina.

Ilya Auseyenka of Belarus clinched silver in the Men’s Super Sprint.

In the final part of the race, the Belarusian kept his speed advantage to outpaced some of prominent opponents. Kirill Bazhin took gold. Anton Babikov finished third.

The Tyumen stage program of the Russian Biathlon Championship included single mixed and mixed relays. The second stage will feature big mass starts in Uvat on 19-20 March. Sprints, pursuits, relay races and classic mass starts will be held in Khanty-Mansiysk on 26-30 March.
