Belarusian Sakovich won at the Weightlifting World Championships U-20

Belarusian Uladzislau Sakovich became the winner of the World Weightlifting Championship among athletes under 20 years of age, which is taking place in Leon, Spain.

In the weight category up to 109 kg, Sakovich started with a successful approach at 165 kg, and then took 170 kg at the second attempt. In the jerk, the Belarusian successively coped with a barbell weighing 195 kg, 201 kg and 204 kg, surpassing all competitors. Sakowicz's championship total amounted to 374 kg

Emin Burun from Turkey took the second place. Georgian Gurami Vekua rounded out the top three.

Thus, a day before the end of the World-U20 Championships in Leon, the Belarusian delegation has six awards (3-3-0). On Wednesday, Ignatiy Pavliukovets (96 kg) won silver in the snatch and deadlift. On September 27, Robert Kurowski, competing in the heaviest weight over 109 kg, will take to the Spanish platform.
