The Belarusian U18 volleyball players advanced to the semifinals of the CEV U18 Volleyball European Championship 2017 in Arnhem, the Netherlands.

In the fourth match of the tournament in Arnhem the Natalia Melyanyuk’s women’s team were stronger than their Romanian rivals - 3:2 (28:26, 27:29, 27:25, 18:25, 16:14). The game was lasting for over two hours. Alina Egorowa (19 points) and Tatsiana Kholad (18 points) were admitted as the most effective players of the Belarusian team.
After the victory over Romania the Belarusian junior national team take first place in Group II, thus getting into the final and securing participation in the Junior World Championship – for the first time since 2001. Serbia occupying the third place in the ranking can’t stay ahead of Belarus, as their match ended in favour of the latter with a score of 1:3. At the group stage Belarus was also stronger than Greece (3:0) and Slovenia (3:1).

1. Belarus – 11 points/ 4 matches; 2. Poland – 9/ 4; 3. Serbia – 7/ 4; 4. Romania – 6/ 4; 5. Slovenia – 3/ 4; 6. Greece – 0/ 4.
The Italian team leads in the Group I rankings.

1. Italy – 12/ 4; 2. The Netherlands – 6/ 4; 3. Russia – 6/ 4; 4. Bulgaria – 5/ 4; 5. Turkey – 4/ 4; 6. Germany – 3/ 4.
On April 6 the Belarusians play with opponents from Poland at 6.30 p.m.
First- and second-ranked teams from both groups pass to the semifinals of the EuroChamp.
Six best teams will take part in the World Championship during August 18-27 in Rosario and Santa-Fe, the Argentine.
