BrainBattle Tournament: Sparks of Victory from Polotsk

The event at the headquarters of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Belarus featured the winners of the regional rounds held among the educational institutions of secondary vocational levels.

Addressing the participants with welcoming speeches ahead of the tournament were Secretary General of the NOC of Belarus Ksenia Sankovich, Chairperson of the Belarusian Olympic Academy Natalya Aponchuk, and Secretary General of the Belarusian Student Sport Association Olga Blagoveshchenskaya.

“Dear children! With your efforts and good knowledge you have earned the right to be represented in the final of this tournament. I hope that the experience of our outstanding athletes, who are present here today, will help you show your best. I would like to thank the Belarusian Olympic Academy, the Belarusian Student Sports Association for organizing the event,” said Ksenia Sankovich.

The children were joined by prominent Belarusian athletes:

Vanesa Kaladzinskaya (freestyle wrestling)
Liudmila Kalinchik (biathlon)
Svetlana Sakhonenko (cross-country skiing, biathlon)
Alim Selimau (Greco-Roman wrestling)
Ivan Tsikhan (athletics)

The jury comprised:

Natallia ‍Tsilinskaya (cycling)
Pavel Shesteren - Deputy Director of the National Center of Physical Education and Sport for School and University Students Olga Blagoveschenskaya - Secretary General of the Belarusian Student Sport Association

1st place - Sparks of Victory team, Polotsk State College of Economics

2nd place - Titans of Olympus team, Mogilev State Technological College

3rd place - Gomel Lynxes, Gomel State Agricultural and Economic College

The tournament was organized by the Belarusian Olympic Academy and the Belarusian Student Sport Association with the support of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Belarus and the Education Ministry of the Republic of Belarus.
