Belarusian freesty skier Dmitri Dashinski won the World Cup Stage 2 in freestyle aerials, which was held at Val Saint Come, Canada, BelTA informs.

In Super Final Dmitri Dashinski got 120.24 points and got ahead of the  Canadian athlete Travis Gerritsa (114.61), Xu Han from China (100.45) and David Morris  from Australia (81.00).

However, in the qualification round, which defines  12 finalists, Dmitri Dashinski was only the 8th. But in the final, which defines  the top four, he was the fourth(117.70). Therefore in the final stage two-time Olympic medalist (silver in Turin-2006 and bronze in Nagano-1998) and two-time Vice World Champion (2001, 2007)  stole the show.

Another three Belarusian freestyle skiers  took part in  Val Saint Come. In qualification, Denis Osipov was only the 11th  (96.02 points), and in the final competition rose to the 7th place(107.08).

The Olympic champion of Vancouver-2010 Alexey Grishin, taking part in the competition after a long-time treatment of back injury, didn’t manage to break into the final and became the 16th(89,76) in the qualification, Maksim Gustik became the 27th (65,54) out of  29 competitors.

The Belarusian Timofey Slivec, who has obtained the citizenship of Russia after the Olympic Games 2010, and now competing for this country, also didn’t manage to come through the barrier of qualification and became the 19th (86, 28).

In the World cup overall standings according to the results of two stages Dmitry Dashinski is on the 3rd place (100 points), coming after the Chinese Tsia Tsonian(140) and the Canadian Travis Gerrits(109). Belarusian athlete Denis Osipov is on the 9th place (68 points), Alexey Grishin is the 23rd, Dmitry Glushakov is the 24th (14), Stanislav Gladchenko is on the 26th place, Gustik is the 33rd (4) among 35 athletes.

The next World cup stage in ski aerials will take place on January, 18 at Lake Placid (USA). The present World cup event has 7 stages.
