Financial aid to federations after Paris Olympics and Belarus’ NOC  certificates of merit

President of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Belarus Viktor Lukashenko presented certificates of merit to specialists for significant contribution to the development of the Olympic movement, mass and high-performance sports in Belarus at the meeting of the NOC Executive Board on 10 January.

Among the awardees were:

Nikolai Malinovsky, Director of the Mogilev State School of Olympic Reserve. He has been heading the school for more than 20 years. A number of its students are outstanding athletes who successfully represent Belarus on the international arena (Yauheni Zalaty, Viyaleta Bardzilouskaya, Dzinara Alimbekava and many others).

Anastasiya Prokopenko, Olympic bronze medalist in modern pentathlon, multiple world and European champion. She was the team leader for many years and retired from sport in 2024.

Following the successful performance of Belarusian athletes at the 33rd Summer Olympic Games 2024 in Paris, the Executive Board of the NOC of Belarus allocated financial support to the federations, whose athletes demonstrated great results: Belarusian Gymnastics Association (gold and silver medals), Belarusian Rowing Federation (silver medal), Belarusian Weightlifting Federation (bronze medal).

This financial aid will be a good incentive for the federations and help implement new projects related to the development of high-performance sports.

The participants of the meeting also took stock of the performance of the Sport and Recreation Complex Olympiysky, Lebyazhy Park and the public association Belarusian Olympic Academy. Plans for the current year were also discussed.
