In the final fight on the carpet in Minsk Palace of Sports, Gushtyn defeated Uladzislau Kazlou in the weight category up to 97 kg - 8:6.
Airaan Tyutrin in the 61 kg weight category defeated Rustam Zhilyasov from Russia.
In total at the tournament in memory of A.V.Medved, awards in 10 weight categories were played.
Bronze medals were won by Dmitry Shamelo (up to 61 kg), Rasul Tikhaev, Ilya Khamtsov (both - up to 86 kg), Yaroslav Yadkovsky (up to 92 kg), Vasily Pavlyuchenko (up to 97 kg), as well as Vitaly Pesnyak and Pavel Dyatlov (both - up to 125 kg). Four top awards went to athletes from Russia, three golds to the delegation of Azerbaijan, one to Bulgaria.
All in all, freestyle wrestlers from 11 countries: Belarus, Russia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Uzbekistan, Bahrain, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Moldova and Greece took part in the competition in memory of three-time Olympic champion Alexander Medved.
Since 1994, by the decision of the International Federation of Unified Wrestling Styles (FILA, currently UWW), the tournament has been awarded the Grand Prix category. The record for the number of participating countries (47) was set at the 30th tournament in 2000.
Alexander Medved became Olympic champion three times (in 1964, 1968 and 1972), and won the World Championships seven more times (1962, 1963, 1966, 1967, 1969-1971). Four times the Belarusian wrestler was unrivaled in Europe and 9 times in the World Championships.
Four times the Belarusian wrestler had no equal in Europe and 9 times - in the USSR championship. He was recognized as the best freestyle wrestler of the twentieth century.
