HC Dinamo Minsk make history as they reach KHL playoffs second round

On 5 April 2025, HC Dinamo Minsk made it to the second round of the KHL playoffs for the first time in the club’s history, crushing HC CSKA Moscow in the decisive sixth game of the first-round series. The game at CSKA Arena ended in a 6-2 victory for the Bisons to complete the series 4-2.


Nicolas Meloche opened the scoring in the 14th minute sending the puck into the hosts’ net. The Moscow team tied it up 10 seconds before the intermission. But the visitor came out for the second period and stuck to its gameplan. Minsk retook the lead in the second period with Yegor Borikov making it 2-1. Josh Brook extended the advantage.


Alexander Volkov completed the scoring with his empty-netter to make the final score 6-2 and secure a remarkable triumph for the Bisons.


Dinamo Minsk's defense stood strong against CSKA’s offensive until the final siren.

Minsk won the first-round series 4-2 and celebrated their first ever KHL playoff progress!

HC Dinamo Minsk will kick off the Gagarin Cup second round on 12 April.
