Los Angeles Organizing Committee releases competition schedule

The Los Angeles Organizing Committee (LA2028) has posted the initial competition schedule for the 2028 Summer Games on the official website.

The first events of the 2028 Summer Olympics will begin on 12 July. These will be qualifying tournaments in field hockey, basketball, rugby-7, handball, cricket, water polo, and football.

The first medals will be awarded on 15 July. The sports with medals awarded on the first day include judo, triathlon rugby-7, fencing, track and field, shooting, and canoe slalom. On the final day of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics (30 July), boxing, wrestling, marathon, track cycling, and swimming will hold medal events. Basketball and volleyball will also conclude with medal ceremonies.

The Los Angeles 2028 Summer Olympics will be running on 14-30 July. The opening ceremony of the Olympics will take place on the night of 15 July, Minsk time.
