The Congress of the AIPS Europe and a mass media seminar is to be held for the first time at the headquarters of NOC Belarus from 11th to 13th September 2015. Forty participants from 27 European countries will take part in the forum.

Due to the fact that Minsk was elected the capital of the European Youth Olympic Festival 2019 (EYOF-2019) and Darya Domracheva’s victory in the mass media survey  in the nomination “Best Woman Athlete of the Year for 2014”. “Belarusian Sports Press Association” have received a proposal from the AIPS Europe to choose Minsk as a platform for the 3d congress and a seminar. 

The project of the events was supported by the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Belarus who in its turn became the main sponsor of the seminar that was approved by the European Olympic Committees and will be held in Minsk as a part of the programme “Olympic solidarity”.

Representatives of Austria, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary, Greece, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Lithuania, Malta, Moldova, Serbia, Poland, Russia, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, Ukraine, Finland, France, Croatia, Czech Republic, Switzerland and Sweden will come in Minsk.

The President of the International Sports Press Association (AIPS) Gianni Merlo (Italy), President of the AIPS Europe Ioannis Daras (Greece) and AIPS Europe Secretary General Charles Camenzuli (Malta), heads and secretaries general of the national associations; observers and reporters will take part in the event. The President of the European movement “Fairplay” Christian Hinterberger, Vice President of the European Taekwondo Association Igor Yuzefovich, Vice President of the European University Sports Association Leonez Eder will visit Minsk as honored guests.

As a part of the Congress, the participants will have chance to see MKSK “Minsk Arena”, Republican CentreofOlympictraining in Ratomka and in Raubichi.

European journalists are going to cover the competitions of the festival
“Legends race – Biathlon Stars for Peace” and Minsk International Marathon. Moreover, the Award Ceremony to Darya Domracheva, who is considered by European journalists to be the best woman athlete of the year for 2014, will be held.

The forum on mass media rights in Europe will be held as a part of the seminar and will take place at the headquarters of NOC Belarus, presentations of the European Youth Olympic Festival 2019 in Minsk and sports events that Belarus will host in 2015-2016, will be organized.

The Congress and the seminar will contribute to the promotion of the international achievements of Belarusian athletes, will give an opportunity for the heads of the European sports press association to become familiar with the infrastructure of Minsk and estimate chances of our country to host the largest international tournaments.
