The Executive Committee of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Belarus has approved Belarus Team for the 2nd Summer Youth Olympic Games which will take place in China's Nanjing on 16-28 August 2014.

The qualifications for the coming competitions took place from 1 April 2013 to 8 June 2014. As a result, 35 Belarusian athletes in 16 sports claimed berths for the Games.

Among those who will represent Belarus at the Athletics will be Hanna TARASIUK (javelin throw), Maryia LITVINKA (hammer throw), Natallia MALCHANAVA (race walking), Elvira HERMAN(100m hurdles), Anna Shpak (pole vault), Stanislau DARAHAKUPETS (200m), Valery IZOTAU (javelin throwing).

Belarus has four berths in cycling and swimming. It will be represented by cyclists Anton Ivashkin, Dzmitry ZHYHUNOU, Marta Sachanka and Hanna Simakovich. The Belarusian swimming team will include Stanislau PAZDZEYEU, Yauhen KAVALIOU, Alina Zmushko and Katsiaryna AfanasyevA. Belarus will also send two boxers Ilyas ADZINAYEU and Maksim KAZLOU, two rowers Kamilla Bobr and Stanislav Daineko. Belarus will be represented by Nikita HARNASTAEU and Iryna PRASIANTSOVA in modern pentathlon, Sviatlana Kazanskaya and Aliaksei DUBROVA in archery, Yury NAUROZAU and Katsiaryna Fitsner in diving, Dzmitry MINKOU and Ulyana MINIANKOVA in judo, Ilya YAKAULEU and Natallia YAKUBAVA in artistic gymnastics. Belarusian athletes will compete in academic rowing (Krystsina STARASELETS), freestyle wrestling (Ina ROIK), trampoline (Artsiom ZHUK), shooting, tennis (Iryna SHYMANOVICH), rhythmic gymnastics (Maria Trubach).

The NOC has also approved the team of coachers who will accompany the Belarusian athletes.

At the 1st Summer Youth Olympic Games the Belarusian team included 49 athletes in 21 sports. Belarus won six medals.
