Olympic lesson at Belarus’ NOC: School Students Team come on top

The Belarusian Olympic Academy together with the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Belarus hosted the Olympic Lesson 2024 for students of educational institutions of Minsk on 2 September 2024.


The event was opened by Ksenia Sankovich, Secretary General of the NOC of Belarus, who congratulated the children on the start of the new academic year and thanked them for coming.

“I would like you to take today's lesson as a festival. Ahead of you are numerous classes and piles of homework. Today I want you to enjoy the game, communication, kick off the school year on a good note, and remember this day for a long time.”




The lesson was held in the format of an Olympic intellectual tournament. Nine teams of five members from each district of Minsk competed for the title.

Top Three following the competition are as follows:

1st place – School Students Team, Partizansky District

2nd place – Dream Team, Tsentralny District

3rd place – The Age of Pioneers Team, Zavodskoi District

All participants received gifts from the organizers.



The lesson included a presentation of the publication “From the Brest Fortress to the Olympic Pinnacle” and an autograph session with the Olympic canoe sprint champion Sergei Makarenko.

The Olympic lesson traditionally attracts attention of school students and contributes to the development of their interest and love for sports, spiritual and moral values, responsibility, active citizenship and patriotism.
