The Belarusian National Olympic Team has accommodated in the Olympic Village, and the athletes are gearing up for the Games, - informs the NOC of Belarus press center in Rio.

Our sports delegation neighbours its counterparts from Ukraine, Armenia, Moldova, Uruguay and Barbados in the same building.

The athletes reside in four-room apartments together with their coaches. The apartments comprise of singles and doubles.


The first floor is fully equipped as the headquarters of our sports delegation and manned with the team responsible for shipping logistics, accommodation, accreditation, and press service.


Our delegation have a special room in possession, where Chef de Mission Aliaksandr Gagiev holds briefs to bring to delegates’ knowledge advanced information. Besides, the teams can assemble for discussions there.

The second floor is fitted out for emergency medical center with 27 workers of healthcare personnel: physicians, therapists, nurses, and massage therapists. If required, the athletes can rely on physiotherapeutic treatment, including laser and magneto therapy, EHF therapy, reflex therapy, lymph drainage, etc. for quick recovery, adhesion, anaesthetization, healing of swelling, stimulation of performance abilities, sleep normalization and mental health.


The Belarusian medical staff disposes of all necessary pharmaceuticals purchased according to the applications, which have been lodged by the teams’ coaching staff, athletes and physicians. The medical staff assures, that the teams will be granted all kinds of treatment. Having taken into account Brazilian climate, they also secured sports nutrition and drinks, as that is considered an indispensable supplement after exhaustive exercise loads.


Upon the athletes’ arrival, our medical staff evaluates their functional status and how they adjust to the climate. Every entrant is given a fumigant applicator and mosquito-repellent spray.
At the moment, the national teams to having arrived in Rio include: Rowing, Boxing, Archery, Artistic Gymnastics, Fencing, Basketball, and Cycling sports delegations.
All the athletes are drilling and get ready for the major sports event of the last four years.

The Olympic Village is residential cluster of 31 buildings to accommodate 10,500 athletes and 7000 officials. There are 10,160 living rooms in total.
According to the Organizing Committee, 14,933 participants are accredited for Rio-2016, with the most numerous National Teams from the US (808) and Brazil (638). The smallest squads were sent by Chad (2), Afghanistan and Brunei (3).


On the territory of the Village there is a laundry, tennis courts, football pitches, seven swimming pools, hospital, gyms, recreation rooms, and playgrounds.







The Olympic dinning room is three times bigger as a football pitch.



There is also a cafe and McDonalds at the Village. The Village cost 1,5 bilion dollars.

To move across the Village, the visitors should travel by shuttles.

The delegates can also take full advantage of athletics race tracks and cycling tracks. Sports delegations shift there by means of bicycles and kick scooters. Our delegation uses bicycles "Aist" (Stork).
