Champions, medalists and participants of the Olympic Games, eminent coaches, National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Belarus General Sponsor representatives, JSC Belagroprombank, as well as members of the public association Olympic Champions Club, the National Olympic Committee staff, and journalists planted fir-trees near the village of Stankovo under the guidance of Aleksandr Mironovich, Chief Forester of Minsk forestry.
The republican campaign Forest Week-2015 headed by Maksim Ryzhenkov, first Vice-President of the National Olympic Committee and Anatol Kotau, Secretary General, brought together the Olympic champions Dmitriy Dovgalenok, Ellina Zvereva, Sergey Makarenko, Tatiana Ledovskaya, Nikolay Alechin, medalists of the Olympic Games Dmitry Dashinski, Kseniya Sankovich, Liubov Cherkashina, Svetlana Paramygina, Yury Smolyakov, honoured coaches Nikolay Kozeko and Vasiliy Knyazev.
Besides the medalists in Rhythmic Gymnastics, Belarus Gymnastics Association delegated athletes of other disciplines. Artistic Gymnastics was represented by Anastasia Marachkovskaya, prize-winner of the World Cup stages and Iryna Siruts, member of the national team; Acrobatic Gymnastics – by two-time European champions (men’s four) Kirill Shatov and Eduard Volchetsky.
NOC Belarus General Sponsor, JSC Belagroprombank, was represented by Yury Karpitsky, Head of Public Relations.
Before the planting, Aleksandr Mironovich, Chief Forester of Minsk forestry, told the Olympic team about the forestry’s activities, the peculiarities of planting fir-trees, conducted safety training and assured that in about four years there will be a real Olympic forest at this very place.

Note:
The Forest Week campaign, initiated by the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Belarus, is taking place from 28 March to 4 April and is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Great Patriotic War Victory. The participants of the campaign plant trees in honour of soldiers who made Belarus peaceful and independent country for seven decades already.
