Vadim Shipachyov’s assist earned him his historic 1,000th career point and helped HC Dinamo Minsk edge out HC Admiral Vladivostok 2-1.
Among those who congratulated the legendary forward were KHL President Alexei Morozov, senator Dmitry Baskov, and HC Dinamo Minsk Director General Artem Karkotsky.
The Minsk Bisons had a difficult start, as they spent much of the game trailing 0-1. Yegor Borikov put his name on the scoresheet in the third period, but the goal was called back after video review. The Minsk players were rescued by Alex Limoges, who tallied while his team was shorthanded. And right before the buzzer, Vadim Moroz scored off a Shipachyov assist to seal the victory.
“Minsk has cemented its place in history as a city where records are broken. This milestone of one thousand points is not just a number. It represents a thousand displays of Vadim’s mastery and a thousand proofs that talent combined with hard work makes history. My congratulations to Vadim, his family, and everyone who witnessed this game. Hockey is indeed a top sport in our country. May these examples inspire boys and girls nationwide to take up hockey and achieve such results,” Dmitry Baskov noted.
HC Dinamo Minsk will play their next away game against HC Severstal Cherepovets on 15 January.
