
Belarusian skater Safonova secures 2026 Winter Olympics quota.
In Beijing, Safonova was seventh after the short program. She performed well in the free skate, earning a total of 181.91 points. She finished fourth in the final standings. Adelia Petrosyan won with 209.63 points.
At the 2022 Winter Games, Safonova placed 13th.
Yauhenii Puzanau failed to qualify. Puzanau scored 185.15 points in the short and free skate, placing 16th out of 26 competitors. The top five skaters qualified for the 2026 Olympics. Russia's Petr Gumennik won the tournament (262.82), with South Korea's Kim Hyun-yum and Mexico's Donovan Carrillo rounding out the top three. Also competing at the Games will be Ukraine's Kirill Marsak and Li Yuxiang of Chinese Taipei.
