President of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Belarus Viktor Lukashenko held a working meeting with Governor of Russia’s Primorye Territory Oleg Kozhemyako at the headquarters of the NOC of Belarus in Minsk on 29 November.
"We are happy to welcome you on a return visit to Minsk, in the NOC of Belarus. Here we hold events that are important for the national Olympic movement and sport, meet with athletes and functionaries, and provide an opportunity for all sports organizations to implement their projects. As we say: ‘The doors of the NOC are open to everyone’," Viktor Lukashenko said in his welcoming speech.
In turn, Oleg Kozhemyako thanked the head of the Belarusian NOC for the invitation and the opportunity to visit the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Belarus, to get acquainted with the sports and tourism potential of the country.
"I am impressed by the sports infrastructure of Minsk. We will borrow a lot of ideas from you. Belarus' experience in the sports industry is interesting. At our meeting in Vladivostok in September 2022 we took note of positive changes in cooperation in this area. It is thanks to vibrant interaction at all the levels that we will continue to implement large-scale projects, thus uniting our athletes,” said the governor of Primorye Territory.
Oleg Kozhemyako asked in what disciplines Belarus performed at the Olympic Games and what sports brought the country the biggest number of medals. The head of Primorye Territory also asked about the readiness of the ski slopes in the country this season and was pleasantly surprised that the Raubichi center is already open for ski enthusiasts.
Viktor Lukashenko and Oleg Kozhemyako stressed the importance of active cooperation between Belarus and Primorye Territory of the Russian Federation in sport for the dynamic development of relations in the Union State of Belarus and Russia.
