The second day of the Beijing Winter Olympics will feature seven medal events. Belarusian athletes will not compete on 6 February. Nevertheless, it is a great chance for them to better adapt to the conditions and prepare for the upcoming events.
The Belarusian biathlon team is driven to perform well. Coach Oleg Ryzhenkov stressed that the mixed relay was a good test for the team ahead of the next races. The men's team looks also very optimistic about improving their results.
The men's alpine skiing downhill will highlight the competition program on Sunday.
Pyeongchang Games champion Aksel Lund Svindal from Norway has announced his retirement from sport. However, there are several gold contenders at this year’s Games in China. Beat Feuz from Switzerland has been showing really good results this season. Reigning world champion Vincent Kriechmayr of Austria and his fellow Austrian Matthias Mayer will also be looking to top the podium. Aleksander Aamodt Kildeis leading the overall World Cup standings this season and will do his best to claim a medal.
