Belarusian weightlifter Anastasiya Mikhalenka won a silver medal at the U23 European Weightlifting Championship in Eilat, Israel.

A participant of U23 EWC in weight category up to 69kg, Belarusian Anastasiya Mikhalenka got total of 222kg (95kg snatch+125kg jerk) at six successful attempts. Solely Russian Nadezhda Likhacheva managed to excel her – 235kg (105+130). A bronze medal went to Polack Jolanta Wior, with her result of 209kg (95+114).
This year it’s been the second silver award in Mikhalenka’s collection since Junior World Championship in Wroclaw, when she’d participated in weight category up to 75kg. At Rio 2016 she failed to lift initial 103kg and dropped out.
Prior to Mikhalenka’s medal, junior athlete Krystsina Makutsevich took the first silver medal of the Belarus’ team at Junior EWC.
