EYOF 2015. The results of the first day

During the first day of the Festival Belarusian athletes compete in the following disciplines: figure skating, cross country skiing and alpine skiing.

Alpine skiing

On the first day boys competed in the giant slalom. According to the total score of two attempts Chertsin Danill has come 52, and another belarusian athlete Zvernik Vlad has finished 62. The winner was Pascal Fritz from Austria. 126 athletes participated in the giant slalom.
«Performance in the giant slalom is boys’ debut at the international competitions», - said coach Igor Zvernik. «We have visited international tournaments before the festival, but both times the giant slalom was canceled. That’s why boys didn’t have any rating points and got starting positions at the end of the protocol. When they started the race, the track had already been destroyed. Despite of that fact Daniil and Vlad managed to outscore many of their opponents who had overcame them in the last year. Unfortunately Chertsin Uladzislau didn’t manage to score because of mistake he had done during the second attempt. Boys will also compete in slalom»

Cross Country Skiing

On the 26 of January Belarusian athletes competed in the following disciplines: boys 10 km classic style, girls , girls 7.5 km classic style.
Danilenka Uladzislau finished 52nd (30.33.7) and it is the best result among our boys. Trusau Hleb finished 54th (30.40.8), Kucharau Yury finished 61st (31.10.5), Kliamentsyeu Mikalai finished 71st (31.56.8).
Karaliova Hanna has shown the best result in the team finishing 28th (25.46.1). Aheyeva Nastassia came 39th (26.45.1), Pakhomenka Nastassia finished 56th (28.10.3), Yuranava Alina came 57th (28.20.1)

Figure skating

Ausiukevich Yelizaveta scored 18th (33.26) after the short program in figure skating.
Tseluiko Artsiom scored 14th in the short program.
The winners both among boys and girls will be announced on the 28th of January after competition in free skating.
«Artsiom completed his program well, without any major mistakes, but he made several faults. Yelizaveta didn’t manage to perform the most complex element in her program – jump combination of triple and double jumps. That mistake didn’t allow her to take higher position in the protocol. Competition in free program is ahead» -said coach Igor Rolinsky.
