Gyor 2017. Two EYOF gold awards for Belarus’ Viktoryia Novikava and Anastasiya Shkurdai

Today on 28 July the national anthem of the Republic of Belarus has been heard twice over the European Youth Olympic Festival arenas, as it is reported by the NOC Belarus press service.

In judo Viktoryia Novikava became triumphant in the weight category up to 70 kg. She achieved confident win over Ukrainian Nataliia Chystiakova.

In swimming Anastasiya Shkurdai established the EYOF record in 100 m butterfly in 59.34sec for which she obtained the highest award. It is a reminder that she had already conquered the silver of 100m backstroke.

In total the Belarusian medal collection counts 11 trophies: 3-2-6. By the final day of the Gyor 2017 Belarus is placed 10th in the medal standing, with Russia (17-10-9), Hungary (10-11-10) and Italy (6-7-9) on top.

In addition, today the Belarusian volleyball women’s U-18 team have crushed Serbia 3:0 and tomorrow stands in final against the winner of Russia vs Italy match.

The Belarusian basketball U16’s have lost 68:72 to the Czechs and tomorrow play with Italy who are left behind by Lithuania 62:65. Earlier the two teams had already met in match ended in favor of Belarus 73:64.

The last day of the EYOF Belarus takes part in canoe sprint, athletics and artistic gymnastics.
