In the Japanese Nagano our athletes won medals in freestyle and biathlon, and the national hockey team made its debut at the Olympics, having taken the 5th place. And the performance of Belarusian athletes in Beijing became the best one in the summer history of the Belarusian sport, so the team took the honorable 16th place among 205 member countries. At the Games in Sochi our national team set up a record by having won 5 gold medals, and ranked 8th in the medal standings.

The Belarusian athletes participated in eleven Olympic Games, six Winter Games and five Summer Games, after the NOC creation.
