On June, 27, the first medal events were held in track cycling at the 2nd European Games. Belarusian cyclist Yauheni Karaliok finished third.
Gold went to Volikakis Christos of Greece (17:57). The silver was claimed by Poland's Filip Kazimierz Prokopyszyn. Yauheni Karaliok closed the top three.
Yauheni Karaliok: «I felt a little disappointed, after the race. Win always means something special, it means you're the best. It was visible that I was among the strongest ones during the race. Last year I became the Champion and for the whole season I was wearing Champion’s clothing. And my rivals know me, they know what I am capable of. That's why they were looking back during the race. So I had to go at full strength.».
Congratulations to the athlete and the Belarusian track cycling team on winning the first medal!
