Within the framework of the Congress of AIPS Europe a presentation of a postgraduate Masters Degree programme Sports Media Master of the University of Nicosia (Cyprus).

The programme will start at the University of Nicosia in Cyprus from the academic year 2015-16 in collaboration with AIPS Europe. The joint project was launched by Dr.Nicos Peristianis, President of the Council of the University of Nicosia, in the presence of Mr. Yannis Daras, President of AIPS Europe;  Mr. Charles Camenzuli, Secretary General, and Dr.Nikos Kartakoulis, Head of Sport Management of the University of Nicosia. The latter emphasized the importance of this Master program in view of the ever growing interest and demand for sport media. The Sport Media Master Program will be offered both at traditional auditorium lectures and by distance learning.

Ms. Eleni Neocleous, Head of Distance Learning Administrative Unit, University of Nicosia, introduced the Programme to the participants of the Congress. She noted that this movement enables professional sports journalists, members of their respective national sports journalists’ associations, especially of the younger generation, to complement their experience with academic knowledge and acquire more skills for careers in their country.
