The Olympic champion Alexander Romankov visited the National Olympic Committee and left words of farewell and support for the Belarusian athletes at the forthcoming Games of the XXXI Olympiad Rio 2016.
"New bright stars rise on the horizon, they shine and delight our planet. The Olympiad lights up the Olympic stars. I crave after our athletes to shine bright at the Olympic Games in Rio, so that they would warm up the entire Belarusian nation, the whole blue-eyed country!".
Talking to the NOC trainees, Romankov asserted, that the Olympiad is a serious test for every athlete and coach. True champions are strong both physically and mentally.

Alexander Romankov(Fencing) is the USSR fencer, who was born on November 7, 1953 in the town of Korsakov on the island of Sakhalin. Being one of the most successful Soviet fencers, he is also regarded as the greatest foilsman of the 20th century. He trained at Dinamo (Minsk) and won a gold medal, two silver medals, and two bronze medals at three Olympic Games between 1976 and 1988.
