Rio 2016. National rowing team gears up for Olympiad to kick off

The Belarusian national rowing team gets ready for the Olympiad start.

The rowing canal is an hour and a half away from the Olympic Village. Every morning at 7 a.m. our rowers go in for training there. According to the athletes, they didn't noticy any fragments of construction waste or seaweed, which had been the object of the canoeists' complaints in the course of testing events. 

- The stiff wind piles up sideward waves. However, we have to put up with it, since all the rowers are in the same boat regarding this moment, - made it clear Ekaterina Karsten.

Lagoa is located in the Rio cluster of Copacabana. It merges with the Atlantic Ocean through the channel of Ipanema. In 2007 Lagoa hosted rowing competitions edition of the Pan American Games 2007. At the Rio 2016 Lagoa will serve as a competition site for Rowing and Canoe Sprint. Its capacity is 14000 spectators.
