Six gold medals for Belarus at World University Championships in Canoe Sports

Team Belarus won six gold medals at the 2026 FISU World University Championships in Canoe Sports in Szeged, Hungary.

Andrei Zholabau clocked 00:40.51 in the C1 200m to win the title. Lizaveta Prymak and Viktoryia Nestsiarenka left their rivals no chance in the C2 Women 200m.

Artsiom Andreyenka claimed victory with a time of 00:35.67 in the K1 200m.

Dzianis Yermolenka dominated the K1 1000m event with a commanding lead, finishing in 3:35.48. Hungary's Zoltán Mircse, who took second place, trailed by four and a half seconds.

Maksim Murauski was victorious in the C1 1000m finishing 2.78 seconds ahead of David Uhrin of Hungary. In the C2 1000m Piotr Kotau and Vadzim Lychou took the lead from the very first meters and held their position all the way to the finish line.

The FISU World University Championship in Canoe Sports will run through 20 August. The main event of the season will be 2026 ICF Canoe Sprint and Paracanoe World Championships in Poznań, Poland, from 26 to 30 August.
