Legend of the Belarusian handball coach Spartak Miranovich was awarded by the prize of the International Olympic Committee "Sport - School of Life", which was established in the honor of the 150th Anniversary of Pierre de Coubertin.

The award ceremony took place on June 15, 2014 in Minsk during the qualifying match for the IHF World Championship-2015 Belarus-Montenegro.

Vice-President of the NOC of Belarus Vladimir Konoplev and Secretary General George Katulin took part in the ceremony.

- It’s great honor for me to get the IOC Award - shared his impressions Spartak Myronovych.
Honored coach of the Soviet Union and the Republic of Belarus Spartak Miranovich - a unique coach, who spend all his life in pedagogical activities in sport. Among his athletes are eight Olympic champions and about eighty world champions in handball in different ages groupes. Spartak is a permanent chief coach of the men's handball team SKA (Minsk) since 1976. Under his guidance the team became three times winner of European Cup and twice won the European Cup Winners Cup. In 2013 the club SKA won the European Handball Federation Challenge Cup.

Spartak Miranovitch
Born June 20, 1938 in Magnitigorsk.
In 2013, the legendary handball coach Spartak Miranovich celebrated his 75 years birthday.
USSR Master of sport (1964),
Belarus honored coach (1967),
USSR honored coach (1977).
From 1991 to 1997 NOC Belarus Executive Committee member.
Coach of the USSR Handball team since 1986. This team is winner of XXIV Olympic Games (1988, Seoul) and XXV Olympic Games (1992, Barcelona), silver medalist of IHF World championship (1990), silver medalist of Super Cup (1983), winner of the Goodwill Games (1986, Moscow; 1990, Seattle).
Head of USSR national junior handball team since 1970. This team won IHF World of Junior Championship (1977, 1979, 1983, 1985).
Head coach of the SKA Handball team (Minsk) since 1976. Under his guidance the team won Europe Champions Cup (1987, 1989, 1990), Cup Winners’ cup (1983, 1988), EHF Challenge Cup (2013), Supercup (1989), USSR Champions (1981, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1988, 1990), Belarus champions (1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002), USSR Cup (1980, 1981, 1982) and Belarus Cup (1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2006, 2012).
