Belarusian handball maître Spartak Mironovich celebrates 80th anniversary

The legend of the Belarusian and Soviet handball Spartak Mironovich turns 80 today. In recognition of immense contribution Honored Coach of the USSR and BSSR Mironovich paid to the development of the Olympic Movement, mass and elite sport in Belarus, the NOC Executive Board Members officially congratulated him on 80th anniversary. 


“Throughout years of work you have made enormous contribution to the progress of handball in Belarus. Multiple times you have led the national team to triumph at both home and world competitions, thus bringing fame to our country in the international arena.

Owing to your background and vast experience, you are renowned as a natural leader in handball, who boosts the Olympic Movement march across Belarus”, was written in the birthday card.


The hero of the day accepted birthday wishes from Minister of Sports and Tourism Sergey Kovalchuk, who pointed out exclusive importance of Mironovich’s achievements and handed over to him the ministerial Certificate of Honour and a gift.
