George Katulin and Ksenia Sankovich are members of the permanent Commissions of the EOC Executive Committee

At the meeting of the EOC Executive Committee held in conjunction with the seminars of the European Olympic Committees and the International Olympic Committee in May this year, reports on the preparation for the 2nd European Games 2019 presented, also the composition of the EOC permanent commissions approved. Thus, General Secretary of the NOC of Belarus George Katulin have become a member of the Commission for preparation for the Olympic games, and Belarusian gymnast Ksenia Sankovich, Secretary of the Commission “Women and sport” NOC have become a member of the Commission on gender equality in sports.

In addition, the NOC and IOC seminar on preparation for the Games discussed issues of cooperation with the Association of national Olympic committees (ANOC). Secretary General of the organization Mrs. Gunilla Lindberg presented information on the World Beach Games that are hold for the first time under the patronage of ANOC in October 10-15, 2019 in San Diego (USA).

During the seminar, the report of the organizing committee on preparation for the summer Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 presented.

Special attention paid to new approaches in the selection of future candidate cities for the Olympic Games. The focus is on reducing the costs of organizing and hosting games, maximizing the use of existing infrastructure, sports and temporary facilities, which will not require huge operating costs.

Besides, the seminar provided information from the General Secretary of the EOC Mr. Rafael Pagnozzi about signing an agreement with three agencies for marketing and communications (Octagon, Altius Sports and Mitchell Communications), who will undertake the promotion and implementation of EOC projects in the international market. During the seminar, a working meeting held with representatives of these organizations on the issue of cooperation in terms of hosting the II European Games 2019.

It should be reminded that the 39th EOC seminar held in conjunction with the IOC seminar on preparation for the Olympic Games in Tokyo was held 11-12 May in Belgrade.

The first Vice-President Andrey Astashevich, Secretary General George Katulin and Head of the international relations Department Vasily Yurchik took part in the seminars on behalf of the NOC of Belarus.
