On March 4, Maksim Varabei of Belarus finished second in the Men 10km Sprint at IBU Cup in Raubichi, 5.2 seconds behind the winner Sivert Guttorm Bakken of Norway clocked the best time of 27:56.2. Third was Norway's Endre Stroemsheim, 34.5 seconds back.
Viktar Kryuko of Belarus came in 26th. Yahor Kazarynau crossed the finish line 38th.
Adelina Sabitava of Belarus placed 27th in the Women's 7.5km Sprint. The event was won by Elisabeth Hoegberg of Sweden. German Stefanie Scherer took the second position, losing 28.7 seconds to the race leader. Rounded out the top three biathletes Norwegian Aasne Skrede (delay of 29.8 seconds).
Competing in Raubichi on 4-6 March will be 151 athletes from 31 countries.
According to the changed program, sprint competitions will be held on Wednesday (12.00 – sprint women, 15.00 – sprint men) and Thursday (11.00 – sprint women, 14.00 – sprint men) with a 20-second start interval, while mass starts 60 (11.00 – women, 13.30 – men) will close the program on Friday.
