President of the National Olympic Committee of Belarus Viktor Lukashenko and Minister of Sports Sergei Kovalchuk presented awards to the winners and medalists of the Victory Cup beach volleyball tournament.
In the final, the Belarusian duo faced experienced Russians Maria Lazurenko and Maria Yegorova.
The match ended with a score of 21:19, 21:7.
In the men’s part of the tournament, Belarusians Pavel Piatrushka and Aliaksandr Dziadkou finished fourth. The representatives of VC Minsk vied for the bronze medals against VC Dinamo Moscow’s Vladislav Reinson and Vyacheslav Krasilnikov, the latter a world champion and Olympic medalist. The decorated visitors came out on top.
In total, 24 of the strongest pairs from Belarus, Russia, and Kazakhstan (12 men’s and 12 women’s) competed for the prizes of the second international beach volleyball tournament in Minsk. On 13 September, the Challenge Cup will take place at the venue near the Palace of Sports, where beach volleyball representatives will face off against classical volleyball players.
